MARSHALL LAKE

If you are looking for walleye action, this is the lake.

They are biting so fast you can't seem to feel the jig hit the bottom.

Come on up and find out for yourself!!

Marshall is a real prize if you are looking for walleye action.  You will have to take a break from fishing, just to let your arms rest.  Lots of big pike, many in the 20 pound range.

Marshall is about 2 miles wide and 7 miles long.  The cabin is located centrally on the south side.  It is quite a shallow lake, but has a few places that go down to about 30 feet.  That's were a lot of walleyes hang out.

Below is a thumbnail photo of the lake.  Click on and see it larger.

We have a PDF file map of Marshall Lake for those of you that may want to print it out or look closer.

Marshall was given a new dock in 2005.

My sons, Jacob and Joshua and I spent  a few great days at Marshall

When we arrived via float plane we were surprised to find the cabin broken into and ransacked by a bear.
I have included a few photos
be sure to click on them to enlarge

But after all that cleaning we were off to fish.  And the fishing was great.
As usual!!

The above catch was what we caught to take home.  We caught them the evening before we flew out.  It took about an hour and a half.  We threw back the big ones.  Really, most of them were too large to keep.   That's why it took so long.

I just returned from Ontario and here is a small report!

Russ and I opened Marshal camp for the first fisherman.  Russ is an old fishing buddy and dear friend from way back.  I finally got him to come along with me this year to one of Tom's Camps.  We first stopped at Ara Lake and then came to Marshall.
We had lots to do and fishing was one of them.
Below you will see of few photos of the fishing part.

Russ's big complaint was that his shoulder hurt from pulling in so many nice fish.  Bad luck for him!!  The second was that his hands were cut up from the walleyes.  A price he gladly paid.  He took the hook out of many.

And here is one of them.

Now tell me that is not a real beauty.  Russ sure thinks so.

Here is a whitefish Russ caught.  He put on quite a tussle.

And here I am holding a nice northern I caught casting.  It was 12#.

We had a great time and Russ was very impressed with what we caught.  We had so many doubles that we quite counting.

Thanks Russ for going along with me.  It was great doing what we have done so many times in the past.

Here is a typical catch for supper.
That's Dick holding those beauties

Here is the Tom and Judy examining the catch

Now is this what friends do?

Always good day at Marshall.

Why is Judy holding that nice stringer of walleyes?

Just a great day to be alive, don't you agree Kristen?

Hey Judy, another nice one

Sunrise and sunset are always special.

Above is a view of the inside of the cabin.  Very spacious and comfortable.

This is a shot of what is normally happening if you are not out in the boat.
