You have just found the connection to some of the best fishing in Northern Ontario.

WELCOME to TOM'S FLY IN FISHING

NAKINA, ONTARIO !!

Where is Nakina??

First take a look at some of our happy fisherman!!

Look at some of our fly-in camps at Ara Lake, or Marshall Lake, or if you are into Trout click on Dusey Lake.   Now if you like all of the above on the Albany River system, you need to check out Teabeau Lake.  And of course click on our Photo page.

THE 2008 SEASON IS UNDERWAY !!

We made it through one of the hardest and longest winters in many years.  And here we are in the middle of summer and wondering already where the summer is going.  The fishing has been great, but with the high gas prices and everyone staying very close to home, we have more openings for those looking for a last minute fishing trip.

JUST GIVE US A CALL AND WE WILL SET YOU UP WITH A GREAT TRIP.

IT IS NOT TOO LATE.  GIVE TOM A CALL.

Tom and Nakina and Ontario welcome you!!

You will never forget it !

Good fishing !!

Tom uses Nakina Air Service for flying his clients to the outpost camps.

The trip on the float plane is the start of the adventure and to help explain why, take a look at the following.
If you have never flown on a float plane or have never heard of De Havilland or Otter, you are in for a real treat and history lessen.

Take a look at this picture.  It is one of a pair of converted De Havilland Otters that will be flying you to your lake of choice.  Their fly-in service is as good as it gets.  Its worth going just for the flight.  Nakina Air Service is their name.

If you want to be a part of that happy group flying out of Nakina, and who wouldn't, give us a call or email and we will make it happen.

PASSPORT NOTICE

The big question from our US clients is,  "Do I need a passport to travel to Canada?"

If you are driving, the answer is still NO!

The new rules apply only if you are flying across the border.  Next year is still a question. But for now you need only a government-issued photo ID plus a proof of citizenship in the US.  This could be a birth certificate.   A passport would be a good idea, but it is not required, yet.

There are changes that have taken effect on Feb 1, 2008.

Please click here and find out more about the new passport regulations.

OK, SO HOW ABOUT THE FISHING ??

Tom's Outpost Camps has available to you walleye, northern pike, and brook trout fishing like you will not believe.  But it is true.  We have put together fly in trips to five different lakes and rivers.  Four of these lakes/rivers have one cabin that will hold from 6 to 10 people.  What I mean is that when you fly in to one of our lakes there is only one cabin on the whole lake or river stretch.  The whole area is yours!  You will not see anything but nature at her basic self.  One of the lakes, Ara has two cabins, one can accommodate eight, the other, four.  They are located together sharing a dock.  We share Ara with two other  camps.  One is walking distance away.  The other is about 3 miles away.  But Ara is so large that there is plenty of room for all.

Tom's Outpost Camps are in a part of Northern Ontario, just North of Nakina, that is beyond where the road ends.  Even if you did want to drive there, it would be impossible.  Flying is the only option.  These lakes, Ara, Marshall, Dusey, Teabeau, and Jessiman are in the middle of what some call "Nowhere".  That is what makes them so great.  It is like stepping into another world.  When the float plane drops you off at the dock and flies away, you are separated from the rest of the world.  It is a sobering and exhilarating feeling.  It makes you feel alive again.

But now, how about the fishing?  That is why you are here, right?  The prime attraction to these lake is the fabulous Walleye fishing.  It is like nothing you can imagine.  It is very common that you can catch 100 walleyes a day per person.  You literally have to take a break to rest.

I was fishing with my two sons last year on Marshall and I was so busy taking the fish of the hooks for my sons that I couldn't get my own jig baited and into the lake.  Now that was fun!!

Of course the other great thing is eating fresh Walleye.  It's that good??  Three times a day may be pushing it a bit, but they are great eating.

The Northern Pike are the next attraction.  They are in abundance throughout the lakes in Northern Ontario.  The small ones are 5 pounds.  You can catch them when you are jigging for Walleyes.  But, if you really are after them, you are in for a lot of fun.  When you start getting them over 35 inches, it is real exciting.  And believe me, there are plenty of them around.

And what about those trout fishing fanatics?  Do we have a spot for you!  Just take a look at Dusey Lake.  It is actually a wide spot on the Dusey River system.  It has great walleye and pike fishing, but the brook trout are there in abundance.  If you are a true brook trout fisher person, this is the lake for you.

Click on the thumbnail below and see a map showing the lakes locations with respect to Nakina and Nakina Air Service.  Nakina is sort of the end of the road and Nakina Air Service extends that with there float planes and their great fly-in service.

The dark red line below Nakina is highway 584.  That's the one going to Geraldton.  The other lighter red lines are logging roads.  This map is about 140 miles East-West  and 100 miles North-South.

Our Base Camp is located just east of Nakina on Lower Twin Lake.  This is a great place to vacation or just to spend the night before flying out to your camp.

What's the weather right now in Nakina??

Here is the nearest weather to Nakina.  Geraldton is just south about 60 miles.
